  4. Edit: it's easy to define a curve-based control in FanControl. If you want, say you want your fan to be 80% while gaming. While idling, your GPU temperature will be around 10 degrees above ambient, say 35c. Set a curve where the fan speed is 0% for temps below 40c, and 80% for anything higher than 40c.
