1 lis 2011 · While pointer values are not required to map to addresses, it is perfectly possible to return a pointer some Memory Mapped IO (MMIO) address space through C implementation matching assembly code. Accessing the memory by this C pointer will of course do MMIO, but only if the compiler doesn't optimizes it away.

My first thought is that your GPU only spins the fans up when it gets hot. My GPU fans don't turn on until the GPU hits 55°c. It's a setting called "0 rpm" or something similar don't remember exactly what it is. That's my best guess.
