23 kwi 2008 · Control Visions Anywhere Map and the Garmin GPSMAP 496 do pretty much the same things. They both offer GPS-driven moving maps with an extensive aviation database. Both can display datalink aviation weather and traffic.

9 kwi 2009 · With the 496 you can interface the ZAON XRX traffic boxes so you get the traffic depicted on the GPS screen as well as alerts through the intercom. I've had good results with mine.....Not sure if you can with the 296.

We have a GNS430 for comm and as the main GPS navigator, but we keep the 496 turned on in case of electrical failure and to monitor weather and—at night—terrain. The screen is larger than the 430 and a bit easier to read.
