GPD is legitimate. They WILL ship you a device no matter what. GPD isn't reliable, if you need service, good luck. They'll make you pay your own shipping all the way back to China, where you'll need to wait 2 weeks minimum to get your device back. The devices are mostly legitimate.
You have to understand, you're at a subreddit that's specific to these products. People tend to make posts about their problems more so than "everything is running great". Doubt anyone is collecting statistics to truly tell you the failure rate.
