Dinosaur Park Formation, including two complete skulls of Gorgosaurus and an isolated postorbital of Daspletosaurus , reveals new information on the anatomy and ontogeny of tyrannosaurids.
This paper is based mostly on recent studies of the skull anatomy of North American tyrannosaurids (Currie 2003), and ofAsian tyrannosaurids (Hurum and Sabath 2003); more detailed anatomical data are given in these two papers.
1 cze 2003 · Here, we describe two small, articulated Gorgosaurus specimens (skull lengths of ca. 500 mm) that help advance our knowledge of the anatomy and ontogeny of this taxon and of tyrannosaurids in...
The X−axis is the length of the maxillary tooth row, and the Y−axis represents the number of maxillary teeth. Gorgosaurus (triangles) and Tarbosaurus (solid squares) show a slight tendency to increase the number of teeth with size, whereas Tyrannosaurus (diamonds) shows a slight tendency to decrease the number.

Small, juvenile skulls are known for two other tyranno− saurids—that of Nanotyrannus lancensis (CM 7541) is 575mmlong(premaxillatooccipitalcondyle)andthatof
Our results are based upon a phylogenetic analysis using PAUP program (Swofford 1999) of 77 skull characters and seven genera (Albertosaurus, Alioramus, Daspletosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Nanotyrannus, Tarbosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus); with Allosaurus as outgroup.
21 wrz 2019 · Using the scanned pieces we articulated the model making a skull of The Gorgosaurus Libratus. This detailed computer skull can be sent anywhere in the world, for anyone to study.
