Whenever I open a new Chrome window or tab, in both a regular window and incognito window, instead of binging me to the google search page, it brings me directly to the yahoo search page. Whenever I go to do a search it always defaults to Yahoo.
My friend has been struggling with the problem of her default search engine changing from Google to Yahoo for a while now. Based on what I read up, there is probably a malicious plugin or program causing this.
I know how to fix this, You go to chrome settings and go to Search engines then remove the search engine that is a virus. (This is on chromebooks)
means you download or installed something that set your default to yahoo. i would review what i installed when the switch happened because its quite trashy from an installer to do this, and you really gotta think about if you trust them. changing it back is in the setting, search for search engine. Click 'Yahoo!' Button. Your done. Yahoooooooooo!
I have to manually change it and delete Yahoo every day from the search engine and make Google the default. Some how Yahoo makes it way back as the default. How in the hell does a competitor allow others services to default over theirs?
Go to your browser settings. There should be something called default search engine. Change that to google. Another should be default homepage. Change that to google as well and you're good to go.
I have this recurring problem with Chrome where every time the program restarts the search engine switches to yahoo. It does not seem to matter how many times I have switched the default back to Google and deleted the yahoo search engine from the options list, it always comes back.
