Next to Gold Lake Campground is a two lane concrete ramp with seasonal loading dock, paved parking and two pit toilets. The second location is at the dam and is primarily for mon-motorized watercraft.

The Gold Lake Boat Launch Facility has recently been repaired and upgraded. It has a two lane boat ramp with floating dock, expanded parking, day use area, solar lighting, vault toilets and trash pickup.
The lake has two boat launch areas, two campgrounds, equestrian trail rides. Beginning in 2020 both boat launch facilities and day use areas are fee areas. Nearby are dozens of glacially carved alpine lakes and connecting trails.
Gold Lake, unlike the other smaller lakes in the Lakes Basin Recreational Area, offers an assortment of aquatic pursuits. It is open to jet and waterskiing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, boating and swimming.
If you’ve never kayak-camped before, Gold is the perfect lake to test your backcountry gear and try out a new travel style. The 4X4 campground is accessible either by boat or high-clearance road (no ordinary SUVs here) and allows you to spend the most time on the prettiest piece of lake.
