14 maj 2017 · An Expositional Sermon. Psalm 9:1-20. “God Is a Stronghold for the Oppressed”. Theme/Big Idea: God’s people respond to God with thanks, trust, telling, asking for God’s grace, acknowledging His judgment, and asking Him to not let men prevail.
What matters is how he responded to his attackers. Through his example, God reveals seven lessons for responding when you are under attack. God wants you to respond with: (1) praise, (2) trust, (3) dependence, (4) worship, (5) humility, (6) hope, and (7) petition / prayer.
5 lut 2018 · I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 9:1-2) Here we find four distinctive ways that God’s people can worship Him: I. THANK God. “I will GIVE THANKS to the Lord” The KJV uses the word “praise”; most other translations say “give thanks.”
Psalm 9 teaches us to praise God in remembrance of his character and deeds - specifically for the just punishment of his enemies and his remembrance of the oppressed and afflicted.
4 lut 2024 · • Only God can judge me (and he will) … judgement is a good thing because he is just (He deals with all wrongdoing + He is fair in every situation + He declares his own innocent through Christ). • I praise God because he is Righteous! Verse 9 – 10 || The LORD is a refuge for the persecuted, a refuge in times of trouble.
