This verse explains how God demonstrated His righteousness at the present time by being just and declaring righteous the one who has faith in Jesus. It also contrasts God's way of justification by faith with human boasting based on works.
23 maj 1999 · God Is Just and the Justifier. At the end of verse 26, Paul shows what God’s two great goals were in the death of Jesus. Why did Jesus die? It was “so that [God] would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” To be righteous, and to reckon as righteous those who don’t have their own righteousness.
4 lip 2013 · Verse 26 focuses on His justice in justifying sinners after the cross: “for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” As we saw last week, to justify is to declare the accused to be righteous.

24 sie 2020 · The very justness of God illuminates his love, grace, and mercy in a way that nothing else could because not only is God just, but he is our justifier, meaning he alone has the power and ability to make us righteous before him.
God has done this to demonstrate his righteousness both by the wiping out of the sins of the past (the time when he withheld his hand), and by showing in the present time that he is a just God and that he justifies every man who has faith in Jesus Christ.
God showed He was just. His sacrifice of His Son for our sin made it possible for Him to offer to us eternal life without leaving human sinfulness unpunished. In addition to His love, God demonstrated His justice, His righteousness.
