The Great Northeast Collegiate Hockey Conference (GNCHC) was an ACHA Division II ice hockey league based in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The league was disbanded in 2017.
History. The league began as the brain child of Paul Saylor (West Chester College student and coach) and Brian Schnarr (Academy of the New Church Treasurer). The two league founders put together the initial schedule in the fall of 1971.
In the 2006-2007 season the Lions joined the newly formed Great Northeast Collegiate Hockey Conference (GNCHC), formed by the six previous members of the DVCHC and Rowan. The Lions finished 9-3-0 in division play, and 12-11-1 overall.
The ACHA is the governing body for all non-varsity competitive college ice hockey programs in the United States. The Division 1 team plays in the Northeast Collegiate Hockey League (NECHL) and the Division 2 team plays in the Atlantic Coach Collegiate Hockey League ( ACCHL ) Division 2A conference.
