Your monk level determines the number of points you have, as shown in the Ki Points column of the Monk table. You can spend these points to fuel various ki features. You start knowing three such features: Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense, and Step of the Wind.
This bonus increases when you reach certain monk levels, as shown in the Monk table. Your jump distance is doubled and you can use your Dexterity score, in place of your Strength, when calculating how far you can jump.
By focusing on building ki through the attack action, Step of the Wind, and accurate Step of Blows (formerly Flurry of Blows), Tier 2 and especially 3 and 4 monk gameplay moves away from stunning every creature in the encounter in the monk's first turn.
