A museum and visitor center is located at the monument near the TJ Ruins. The visitor center is jointly operated by the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service. The museum hosts exhibits of Apache and Mogollon artifacts, uncovered both in the surrounding wilderness and at the monument.
The Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is a National Park Service managed area that is surrounded by the Gila National Forest. The surrounding area includes a number of campsites, an interpretive trail and an educational/visitors center.
The trail to the Gila Cliff Dwellings is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (MST), 7 days per wk. The visitor center is open from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Please contact the visitor center (575.536.9461) ahead of time to ensure there are no closures.
