This paper makes a significant contribution to this development by presenting an important collection of Tibetan maps, namely those of the Harrer Collection held at the Ethnographic Museum at the University of Zurich, probably the largest corpus of Tibetan geographic regional maps outside of Tibet.
A Historical Atlas of Tibet - Maps Only, 2023. These are the maps from the draft editing copy of my "A Historical Atlas of Tibet." (University of Chicago Press, 2015). The final copy had more maps, plus text and images.
The climate of the south of Tibet is softened in the high Eastern valleys (Mekong, Yangzi Jiang) and in the south (high valley of Brahmaputra, Lhasa). The average temperature is -1C° in January and 17C° in July. The countries bordering Tibet are: China, India, Nepal, Bhutan as well as Mongolia.
