The cheapest/best way to get 5.1 on a PC is to use a surround sound receiver. Either direct via USB or via a DAC that sends to the receiver. It will have a built in amp and handle the 5.1 decoding for you. You can get a decent budget receiver for like $100-200 in normal times.

I recently installed my 5.1 surround sound setup, works perfectly everywhere (fraunhofer multichannel test, other content, etc.) Yet in Genshin Impact stuff that is happening infront of me is coming from the rear speakers. It seems to take the characters perspective instead of the cameras perspective.
