31 lip 2024 · This gear ratio calculator determines the mechanical advantage a two-gear setup produces in a machine. The gear ratio gives us an idea of how much an output gear is sped up or slowed down or how much torque is lost or gained in a system.
To use the bicycle gear ratios calculator, follow this step. Choose the size of your bike wheel and the size of your tires, then input your preferred cadence, and finally input the number of teeth on your chainrings and cassette. Press the calculate button for your results.
Clicking on "calculate" generates two new output pages: a full-size one, and a small one which you might print out and tape to your bicycle's handlebar stem for reference. The small one will overlay the large one in a browser which supports tabs.
I've reformatted the calculator to allow the user to see whichever representation of the gears they desire. This should allow the calculator to be more useful on mobile devices. This new revision includes many requested changes.
