26 kwi 2023 · If the fittings don’t match, one solution is to replace the valve with one that has a flare fitting on one side and a 1/2-inch female pipe thread on the other side. Use the adapter included with your hookup kit to connect the flexible gas line.
I know that it is not proper practice to use pipe dope or tape on the flare end of flare fittings. However I am looking for some kind of an authoritative document to substantiate it. This is an L.P. system.
Dope only on the non flared side of the fittings. There are two different fittings there. First, take the fittings off the flex line. From the pipe into the kitchen, use thread tape made for gas or pipe dope.
No dope no tape on flares. You can use tape and dope on regular gas pipe. Just don't over do it on dope and don't go over threads with the tape.
