  6. Dope only on the non flared side of the fittings. There are two different fittings there. First, take the fittings off the flex line. From the pipe into the kitchen, use thread tape made for gas or pipe dope.

  7. No dope no tape on flares. You can use tape and dope on regular gas pipe. Just don't over do it on dope and don't go over threads with the tape.
