I have a CF on a psp that i bought second hand and after playing some games on the SD card I decided to try some physical games. However some of them requiers a higher firmware and I need to update. Will I break something if I try to update with a UMD?
If you end up making an ISO copy of your games, you will unable to update them by pressing triangle and update. You will need the UMD to update, but this method bypasses that. Required

To do this: – Insert a UMD game disc into your PSP which contains a firmware update. – Navigate to “Settings” and select “System Update”. – Choose “Update via UMD” and follow the on-screen instructions to start updating your firmware.
Try updating the firmware. Every time a new one is released, the old ones get glitchy.
