I found an apartment and arranged a viewing with the landlord with GaijinPot. It was a really tiny Leo Palace apartment in like Sumida for about 92,000円 a month. I just got a Japanese speaking friend and went elsewhere.
Gaijinpot offers two services. One of them is they will help in getting you in touch with Japanese realtors. The other service is they will sublease apartments to you in their name. The first option is the same as if you went direct through the Japanese realtor. They just help you get connected.
I am wanting to move to Japan and came across GaijinPot study. I was just wanting to know if they were legit and worth the time?
I have found some good offers on Gaijinpot. Does anyone know if they are any good for this kind of stuff? Also I have heard that it can be dangerous to rent without a deposit since they can charge you anything they want for damage.

The agent always wants to make money by placing a student. So if you cannot really tell if the school is a good fit for you - the risk is that you are placed at the wrong school. Our recommendation: Read google reviews of the school. The agent website reviews are curated.
If you're going to use a site to help I can recommend GoGoNihon as I used them and had a good experience. They helped with the school, visa, and accommodation process. Honestly I'm not sure it was really necessary but it did make things easier.
