As a resident of Georgia, you may qualify for a financial assistance program designed to help you pay your energy bills. Low-income consumers who meet the following criteria are eligible to receive assistance from the federally-funded LIHEAP.
The Georgia LIHEAP program may be able to offer you one or more of the following types of assistance: Energy bill payment assistance. Energy crisis assistance. Long-term, low-cost residential weatherization assistance.
Qualified individuals may be able to receive energy bill payment assistance, energy crisis assistance, weatherization and energy-related minor home repairs. Applications are offered first to homebound individuals, individuals age 65 and over and those with life-threatening circumstances.

This includes providing assistance with heating bills, restoration of heating, weatherization, and repair or replacement of heating equipment.
Energy Assistance Program Overview. This financial assistance will be primarily in the form of locally issued checks to home-energy suppliers on behalf of eligible households. The amount of assistance to both homeowners and non-subsidized renters who receive a bill for their fuel cost will be either $310 or $350 while funds are available.
HopeWorks helps qualified customers save money on their energy bill by providing free energy-efficient improvement to their homes. To qualify, Georgia Power customers must be: 60 years of age or older. Own and live in their home.
