Schemes for Seniors. Home Access. The Home Access Programme aims to close the digital divide by providing affordable broadband bundle package to low-income households. Launched in September 2014, the Home Access Programme targets to benefit 8,000 households over four years.
Exam-free modules can be completed within the usual module duration, typically lasting a term or a semester. Our participating institutions are making special arrangements for seniors to attend classes meant for regular credit-bearing students at a token fee.
Beginning June 2016, seniors aged 50 and above can look forward to attending: Audit Mode (Exam-free) Modules. These modules are drawn from existing full-qualification programmes for a token fee.
17 lip 2024 · As of 2024, there is no provider that offers free internet to seniors. The FCC's Lifeline program provides low-income individuals with discounts on internet and phone service. For affordable internet service, we'd recommend Xfinity, which offers basic internet service for as low as $20 per month.
DigitalAccess@Home scheme provides subsidised fibre broadband plan and/or laptop/tablet for low-income households, while Mobile Access for Seniors provides subsidised mobile plan and smartphone for low-income seniors (aged 60 and above who are active recipients of MSF’s ComCare Assistance and HDB’s Public Rental Scheme).
