This little village in north-east Poland might not seem like anything out of the ordinary except for the fact that its name translates as ‘ I don’t wash my teeth .’
The breakdown is krigs + lida, meaning roughly "war's hill". Yes I'm very fun at parties. But there are lots of really crude old place names. ISOF's place name registry has dozens of entries for things simply named The Cunt (Fittan) for example.
"Fucking" is the village belonging to Focko. But you can also have natural features as the basis of place names, like "Walding" ("by the forest", basically). "-ing" in Austria can be traced back to the Bajuwars moving into what is now Austria.
