Within a given housing, the impeller diameter will determine the flow and pressure produced. Pressure results from the velocity achieved within the pump. The highest velocity occurs at the tip of the impeller and is directly proportional to the square of the impeller diameter.
20 lut 2022 · The pump must move the quantity of water in Gallons per Minute (GPM) or Liters per Second (LPS) required by producing enough head pressure to overcome the resistance of the pipe, valves, fittings, components and coils within the system including the height the fluid most be moved.
The valve is opened until the flow meter reads 5 gpm and another pressure reading is taken from the gauge. A second point (2) is marked on the graph to indicate this performance. This process is continued at 5 gpm increments across the graph.
