You'll still need the USB. If you understand you'll need the USB for the exploit, if I personally were on 6.72 or higher I'd go to 9.00 myself. Combined with Payload Guest you only need to run the exploit once anyway. I partly read that as a call to upgrade to 9.00 because it is a more user-friendly experience (referring to the bolded text).
