I'm sure this topic has been best to death but I had to ask as I'm kinda lost lol. So I have a POTC I'm restoring and going to do full Leds. I found a kit on pinballbuls that looks excellent, a bit pricey but from the photos looks like a great kit... but...
I will say, LED lighting is so much brighter that it makes playability and seeing the ball that much better. Incandescent games can just be so dark and a lot of LED kits can add pig tails to existing sockets adding more GI to dark areas that couldn't get a bulb in there the traditional way.
Yes. Incandescent bulbs are often rated around 3000 hours. I know people who are on 15,000+ hours with LEDs bulbs (the SMD style, that is) that are still going strong. However, which kind you choose can make a big difference.
