On average, 371,932 fans visit the stadium every year, and if you ask TinCaps President Mike Nutter, a lot more than baseball goes into making the experience special.
Parkview Field was built as the new home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, the Midwest League affiliate of the San Diego Padres, replacing Memorial Stadium. The stadium is also one of the central components to the Harrison Square revitalization project in downtown Fort Wayne.
Parkview Field has come a long way since it was approved by the Fort Wayne City Council in 2007. What started as a polarizing project—a mixed bag of community support and skepticism—is now credited by many as a catalyst for Downtown Fort Wayne’s boom in development.
