16 lut 2022 · The Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) has launched a new online system that makes it more efficient for forestland owners and managers to use prescribed fire on their property. Certified burners can now apply for a burn permit up to 48 hours prior to their planned burn.
Outdoor burning in Georgia requires a permit from the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) for burn activities 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, and 13. GFC Permits are not required for burn activities 1, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 12. More information on the different types of burn activities can be found here.
The law no longer requires one to inform the Georgia Forestry Commission online or by phone about their intention to burn leaf piles and yard debris. Outdoor burning is still prohibited when humidity is less than 25 percent or winds are greater than 10 mph.
