22 mar 2024 · In the current fifth edition (5e) system for the tabletop roleplaying game, the common universe of the Forgotten Realms has many deities, each with their own background of iconography and lore attached to them.
The gods worshiped by the regular people of Faerûn and elsewhere on Toril, its monsters, and even its lesser deities are the subject of many sourcebooks, and this section aims to provide information regarding the deities themselves, their churches, their pantheons, and their followers.
The most noted example of this was the various fiendish cults that had arisen. In at least two cases, the worship from these cults had provided enough power or filled a niche that was not otherwise filled, and the fiends in question had become deities in their own right.
