The most effective and direct way to add a password to a folder in Windows 7 is to download software specifically designed to perform the task. Two options are VeraCrypt and LocK-A-FoLdeR, both of which are simple to use and free.
29 lis 2008 · Just enter the password to open main interface. Now, click Lock a Folder, enter the master password, select the folder (s) you want to lock, and then click Lock it!. This will immediately password protect the folder and hide it from source location.
Password protecting of folders is not supported on Windows NT (i.e XP, Vista, 7) unless you zip them. Right click a folder, then "send to > compressed folder". Now open the zip file, you will find an option under file> "add a password".

3 lis 2014 · If you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise, I would suggest encrypting a partition with the built-in-tool BitLocker and storing your folder within that partition. You can also use a USB drive for that purpose.
