25 lip 2021 · Try this 8.5-mile out-and-back trail near Lincoln, New Hampshire. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for backpacking, camping, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are May through October.
This trail begins in Franconia Notch State Park and then enters into White Mountain National Forest. It is mostly wooded before rewarding you with a great view at the top. The upper section of the trail has a steep ledge that can be wet and dangerous at times.

13 lip 2021 · On a misty day in July, I hiked the Liberty and Flume Loop. The nine mile trek ascends Flume Slide Trail, a route shrouded in mountain legend. It is considered one of the most difficult sections of trail in the White Mountains. (The most difficult, according to the AMC, is Huntington Ravine Trail.)
28 maj 2019 · Flume Gorge is one of the major attractions at Franconia Notch, the winding mountain pass that cuts through the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The Flume Gorge is at the southern end of the Parkway.
Flume is a narrow gorge covered with moss and towering granite walls. It’s insanely tall (over 90 feet in some places) and narrow, creating really dramatic views. It’s basically New Hampshire’s equivalent of a crater and is actually prehistoric!
