Pentair Flotec Submersible Utility Pump is designed for draining water from basement floors, stock tanks, window wells, boats, flat roofs and cisterns. Unit is equipped with a 3-prong grounding-type power cord and automatic reset thermal protection. Bearings on the motor shaft never need lubrication. Pump water only with this pump.
When installed in a sewage system, pipe must be capable of handling semi-solids of at least 2” (5.1 cm) diameter. The rate of flow in the discharge pipe must keep any solids present in suspension in the fluid. To meet minimum flow requirements (2 feet (.6 m) per second in discharge line), size pipe as follows:
Check the pre-charge of air in the tank with an ordinary tire gauge. The pre-charge should be 2 PSI less than the cut-in setting of the pump’s pressure switch. The pre-charge is measured when there is no water pressure in the tank. Your new pump has a 30/50 PSI switch, so adjust the tank pre-charge pressure to 28 PSI.
