Assuming you’ve already downloaded and installed the FFXI client from SquareEnix, you’re ready to connect and begin updating your files. Before you start, verify that you have the following installed for FFXI, PlayOnline, Ashita and/or Windower. The required Visual C++ and Microsoft .NET Framework Runtimes.

All 5 Final Fantasy files located at PlayOnline.com; FFXI Private Server Patch files (Right click and "Open in New Tab") FFXI Xiloader; Windower or Ashita; Note: This guide assumes installation of Final Fantasy XI to C:\Program Files (x86).
Download the retail PlayOnline Viewer and Final Fantasy XI client. Follow the install instructions on the official PlayOnline web site and then return to this page. Unzip the file into the location where you installed the game client. This is typically in “C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI”.
The installer for the Ultimate Collection: Seekers Edition has been completely refurbished. They made it into an all-in-one installer, all files are upto date. So there would be no update after you install (right now) edit: Granted it was a significantly smaller update for both.
