Accident reports are available from the Records Division 3 to 5 days after the accident (they will not have photos, witness statements and/or scale diagrams (if these items were created for the accident report you have requested). You must provide two of these three pieces of information: Case number (if available)
You may obtain a copy of a Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Report (CR-3) by using our Crash Report Online Purchase System link below. Customers using the online system receive their report(s) via email following the purchase.

If you are unable to locate your crash report for an online request through TxDOT, you can utilize the link below to get instructions to receive by mail.

Vehicle Accident Report. You can submit your request for a Vehicle Accident Report, and pay for it, either by mail or in person. Reports under 10 days of the date of the accident may not yet be available for purchase. To inquire on the status of your report, please call Central Records at 512-854-9749.
