First and foremost, offshore is the Beqa (pronounced Beng-a) Passage with Beqa Island and Lagoon, a 45-minute boat ride away which has some of the best dive sites in Fiji.

Water Safety: It’s generally safe to swim and snorkel around the island, but always be cautious of strong currents, and only swim in designated areas known to be free from risks.
After crossing a sandy flat whose chief residents appear to be co-habiting bulldozer shrimp and gobies, you will make your way into increasingly shallow water, where there is a colourful area of rock and coral, fed by shafts of sunlight. Here you can expect anemones and crinoids surrounded by legions of colourful basslets and anthias.
Diving the Beqa Lagoon: Underwater Wonders. Beqa Lagoon’s soft-coral reefs, intriguing wrecks and incredible fish diversity (over 300 species!) make it one of Fiji’s diving hotspots. But the other reason you’ll want to come here is for its unrivalled shark dives.
Just a short boat ride from Nanuku’s beach is Beqa Lagoon, home to one of the world’s largest barrier reefs. Explore the clear, calm waters, where you’ll be able see as far ahead as 100 feet.
