While gathering resources as Miner, Botanist, or Fisher at gathering points that are of level 40 or above, players have a chance of receiving Timeworn Maps. Players can Decipher these maps to receive a location where treasure can be found.
Is there any proof that it's a 1/4 chance for each of those events? I knew it was an RNG roll with illusion of choice, but I doubt those are the odds. For me, at least, it seems like a 60/40 open/close with either open/half close animation and if it closes, it seems like a 10% chance or so to be saved.
It's pure RNG. You pick a door, you have a 50/50 shot of picking right. I don't know if the coding determines all of the correct doors at the start or if it decides when you pick it, but it's 50/50 either way, that I'm pretty sure of (it would be a huge dick move otherwise).
