In particular, the links in Annoyingswedes' post are very useful. The BG wiki is a wealth of knowledge, and the 1-119 guide in it is just fantastic. The youtube link (make FFXI beautiful in 2022) is a total 10/10. Helps you make this already great game look as good as it possibly can, which is surprisingly good for a 20 year old game.

Using either of these laptops with FFXI by default will see performance of about 5-15fps in-game with a lot of input lag, stuttering and other performance issues. Using a proxy, such as mine, will force the game to run using Direct3D 9 and bring it back to crisp and stable 30fps.
