They are elaborate, iconic sets meant to represent the respective job; a new set per job is released in every expansion. Players will acquire the first set of artifact armor for their job upon reaching level 50 and completing their Job Quests.

The gear is synced to Item Level 678 at 99, and rises to 690 at level 100. Dyeing for this armor is unlocked by completing Dawntrail Role Quests.

18 sie 2024 · Higher ilvl gear will be an upgrade to the gear listed here. The strongest simmed set is the 2.42s set, followed closely by the high sps sets and other slower crit sets.The lowest of the bunch is the 2.36s crit set, but only trails by ~0.2% from the top set, so remains plenty viable.
The level 45 job quest gives you job artifact gear that's a decent update, and the level 50 job quest gives you item level 90 gear, which will carry you through the level 50 dungeon. After reaching level 50 and unlocking the Post-ARR patch quests, you can start collecting Tomestones of Poetics.
