23 sie 2022 · Audacity is going to decompress the file anyway so although it’s an extra step for you, it’s basically the same process. [u]MediaInfoOnline [/u] can tell you if it’s an MP3 but it won’t tell you if there’s a problem. If it’s MP3 it will say "MPEG Audio (Version 1) (Layer 3) ". Audacity doesn’t need FFmpeg for MP3s.
29 maj 2020 · New to Audacity. Need to open an mp4 file. Getting the following message: xxx.mp4 is an Advanced Audio Coding file. Without the optional FFmpeg library, Audacity cannot open this type of file. I’m using Audacity Version 2.4.1 Windows 10 Unable to find the link to get FFmpeg. 11 maj 2012 · The current version of the FFMpeg installer is FFmpeg_v0.6.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe, but no guarantee that this direct link will work, and the FFMpeg version will surely change at any time in the future.

9 sty 2021 · Download FFmpeg (FFmpeg_for_Audacity_3.2_on_macOS.pkg) No wonder people are confused: the file we tell them to look for doesn’t exist. BTW, the installer file currently provided appears work on an Intel Mac - at least Audacity recognizes them (I haven’t tested importing or exporting any exotic file formats).
24 gru 2023 · If you have FFMPEG installed and you’re familiar with the command line, you could try something like this (without touching Audacity at all): ffmpeg -i input-video.mp4 -map 0:a -c copy output-audio.m4a. Replace input-video.mp4 with the name of your MP4 file and output-audio.m4a with what you want to call the audio file.
7 lis 2022 · Judging by the OS version it seems that you have Intel Mac, so “ffmpeg_64bit_osx.pkg” should work just fine. As of January 2021, the official Audacity manuals' instructions for Installing FFmpeg for Windows advise downloading FFmpeg from lame.buanzo.org; scroll down the page and click the link "FFmpeg RECOMMENDED ZIP OPTION: ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.zip", unzip it in your desired location, then point Audacity to avformat-55.dll in the unzipped folder.
