21 lut 2006 · Ultrasound determination of fetal sex can benefit decision-making regarding invasive prenatal testing in pregnancies at risk of sex-linked genetic abnormalities. The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of fetal sex determination by ultrasound at 12–14 weeks of gestation in a large cohort.
Ultrasound imaging performed in the 11 th and 12 th weeks of pregnancy for fetal gender identification identified the fetus either as a girl, a boy, or as a “gender not assigned.” Frequency, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, and accuracy of the gender identification was assessed using SPSS version 20.
Accurate determination of fetal sex by ultrasound in the first trimester is important for a variety of medical and social reasons. Identifying an accurate fetal sex can be help-ful in determining risk assessment for sex-linked genetic conditions and predicting disorders of sex diferentiation.
3 maj 2023 · Fetal sex assessment by transabdominal ultrasound was performed in 567 fetuses at 11–14 weeks’ gestation (CRL: 45–84 mm). A mid-sagittal view of the genital region was obtained. The angle of the genital tubercle to a horizontal line through the lumbosacral skin surface was measured.
