- Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs)
13 mar 2023 · How can I check if there is a TFR in the area where I want to fly? Active TFRs are published on FAA's TFR list. The TFR list is updated in real-time. The easiest way to see if one exists in your area is to filter by state. You can view details of the TFR in the column titled ‘NOTAM’. TFRs are also displayed in FAA resources for drone pilots:
A TFR is a regulatory action issued via the U.S. Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) system to restrict certain aircraft from operating within a defined area, on a temporary basis, to protect persons or property in the air or on the ground.
There are three situations for which a TFR may be issued under section 91.137, and they are: Section 91.137a(1): TFRs are issued under this paragraph when necessary to protect persons and property on the ground or in the air from a hazard associated with an inci-dent on the surface.
The List Page lists all active TFRs, with some summary information. The page provides drop down lists to limit the number of TFRs shown by Center, State, or Type. The detail of the TFR can be viewed by clicking on the TFR itself, which takes one to the Detail Page.
Access detailed information on Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) for pilots and aircrews.
Each TFR should have a stand -alone graphic (a static image with the option of either a Sectional or Low Altitude Enroute chart background), with textual comments on the graphic.
