A TFR is a regulatory action issued via the U.S. Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) system to restrict certain aircraft from operating within a defined area, on a temporary basis, to protect persons or property in the air or on the ground.

TFRs are issued in the form of NOTAM messages listed chronologically under the “TFR List” tab. You can look for a relevant TFR by date, type and location. Example of list of TFRs at tfr.faa.gov. Click on the NOTAM number to access details of a particular TFR, including maps and specific start and end times.
