Just completed a rear fan swap on a k1 max to a Noctua NF-R8 redux- 1800 80 x 80 x 25 using the Noctua NA-VC1 voltage converter. There's much less noise now and it was relatively easy to do.
There is a duct inside the stock hotend cover that flows air from the part cooling fan to the nozzle / part area. This duct replaces the stock duct and allows better air flow to the part you are printing.
