I know this is years later, but 99% of your MCM, or UI crashes are caused by having too many .swf files running in your game. With the introduction of the MCM, every modder out there decided to add MCM support which adds a .swf file.

It provides a central location for mod configuration, accessible via the Pause menu. ModSettings are stored in per-mod INI files under Data\MCM\Settings, making it easy to backup and restore settings and even change them outside the game if so desired should the mod support it.
Mod Configuration Menu not appearing in Pause Menu. HELP! PC. So, I downloaded it through Vortex and loaded FO4 to check out if it worked. Loaded my save, went to the pause menu to check as I know the Configuration Menu was there and...nothing. Reloaded save again, checked again, nothing.
18 cze 2019 · If you experience a crash @somewhere, restart Fallout 4 and when you are in the menu you can use the coc command, for example: coc redrocketext01 or coc diamondcityext01. Then you can go to that location and check if the crash occurs again. If yes, then deactivate all mods and test again.
24 paź 2019 · $MOD_CONFIG in the main menu and $MCM_SETTINGS so i cannot tweak my mods. Below is a link to someone else pictures who has this exact problem but was only told it was because FO4 was not set to load loose files and no actual fix.
26 kwi 2024 · What I did to fix it was to make a copy of my Mod directory (in Steam->steamapps->common->Fallout4), delete all of the manifest files in my current Mods directory, copy back the manifest files in my Mods-Copy file one by one with restarting the game after each copy to see if the MODS button now worked.
7 gru 2022 · Once you determine which half crashes the game, disable half of the mods in that group to see which half crashes again. Repeat this procedure until you're left with just one mod, which should be that one causing the crash.
