We all know 4k streaming with for example netflix etc. isn't optimal, bitrate can't compare with 4k bluray discs, but how about buying 4k movies online and downloading them. In my case for example bought and downloaded a 4k movie on the PlayStation Store with my ps5.
If you have a lower-end 4K TV with poor HDR and no Dolby Vision, a 1080P Blu Ray will look the same or better than a 4K stream. Add to that most people don't optimize their picture settings, and some have different settings on different inputs, and you get a ton of anecdotal nonsense like this post.
