Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB) (IATA: SKA, ICAO: KSKA, FAA LID: SKA) is a United States Air Force base, located in the northwest United States in eastern Washington, approximately twelve miles (20 km) southwest of Spokane.
Since 1942, Fairchild Air Force Base has been an integral part of our nation’s defense strategy; first as key a WW II repair and supply depot, then as a Strategic Air Command bomber, tanker and ICBM wing during the Cold War and, finally, as an Air Mobility Command air refueling wing supporting contingency operations around the world.
