Completed the 2024-2025 FAFSA. I kept refreshing every 20min or so since this morning (sometimes a little more, sometimes less). Got in just after preparing dinner for my kids. Literally finished a few moments ago.
Excited to confirm that the 24/25 FAFSA *does* exist, and is not (entirely) a mythical creature. Looks like tonight's soft-launch window has already closed, though -- less than 15 minutes after I got in. The application does seem to be significantly easier than in prior years.
The award years run from July 1 - June 30 per federal regulation: so 2023-24 is July 1 2023. - June 30 2024. 2024-25 is July 1 2024- June 30 2025. So your spring should be covered under the 2023-24 FAFSA. This new one should start next fall of 2024.

15 gru 2023 · Students and families will have ample time to complete the 2024-25 FAFSA, and do not need to rush to fill out the form immediately when the soft launch period opens, as FSA will not transmit results to schools until later in January.
