The Express Deal is an offer exclusive to Priceline and can save customers anywhere from 10%-50% on flights, but it is more common to find 30%-40%. When you click on the deal, a list of carriers that Priceline considers “Trusted Airlines” will pop up, one of which will be your airline.
Looking at taking a weekend trip here soon and I was browsing around hotels and came upon the Priceline Express deal where you pay a lesser amount (like $68 or so) and Priceline chooses the hotel within a general area and a set star rating.
First, the deal is not "20%" off - the normal rate is $92.44 vs. the Express Deal's $86 (7% difference). Second, Priceline jacked up the opaque "taxes and fees" so that the "Express Deal" is in fact more expensive than if you just book the hotel straight up.
I've used the Priceline Express Deal a couple times, got normal tickets on major airlines. I don't remember if I was able to select my seats but the airlines are always changing the rules on that and between now and August 2018 things may change again.

17 lip 2012 · Got a question about priceline express deal in St Thomas. I tried bidding a 2 1/2 * hotel for $90 but got rejected. In the Express Deals tab, I see that a 2 1/2* is available for $97.
