16 maj 2016 · Heat wrap is used for 3 reasons. 1.) to insulate and keep engine bay temps lower. 2.) to insulate to keep exhaust gases hotter, longer, as hot exhaust scavenges best. 3.) Appearance. It's the latest fad. I have my 2005 FLH pipe wrapped, under the chrome cover, from the head to the passenger peg, to keep heat off my left leg.
