Effective July 1, 2018, UCF will refund the assessed excess hour surcharge, for up to 12 credit hours, to any student who enrolls at UCF as a first-time-in-college student and completes a baccalaureate degree program at UCF within 4 years after his or her initial enrollment.

So, my total hours in order to graduate with my certificate, including my 12, is around ~153. Does doing my certificate at least raise the amount of hours I can have, or am I doomed to have 33 hours excess?
The amount charged per extra credit hour is a calculated amount referred to as the "Excess Hours Surcharge". An online excess hours counter is available for students to review their progress towards the excess hours limit.
Does UCF charge excess hours if i’ve graduated and am working on a second degree? I’m graduating with health sciences in Spring but I will exceed my baseline limit by 5 credits. I plan on doing an accelerated BSN program but wasn’t sure how the excess hours worked in regards to that.
Only the credit hours you are transferring to fulfil requirements towards your degree count towards the 120 credit hours. So as a transfer student you should be fine. More info at www.registrar.ucf.edu/excess-hours/
