Even if you're in Excel and call a function and give it a string longer that 255 chars it doesn't work. Try in cell A1 =vlookup ("really long string", A1:Z10, 1) and then put the really long string somewhere in that range.
9 wrz 2010 · In Excel, there's a much easier way than other answers here. Let Excel do the heavy lifting for you. This method will not require to break the string into smaller chunks -- it can handle up to 32,767 characters at once.
8 wrz 2016 · Just remove the quotes around the left statement and make sure that you are referencing the same cell. I noticed you are checking the length of AF15 but then pulling the left 4 characters from cell AF10.
