There are two main reasons you might see a formula instead of a result: You accidentally enabled Show Formulas; Excel thinks your formula is text; I'll walk through each case with some examples. Show Formulas is enabled. Excel has a feature called Show Formulas that toggles the display of formula results and actual formulas.

There, go to the Number panel and click the down arrow of the nume format text box (which likely says "General"). Click on More Number Formats to display the number format dialog.

9 mar 2018 · Mar 09 2018 03:45 PM. Data looks to be the same, but EXACT function says it's not - how to I find out why? I've got two text strings that to the eye appear to be the same. Even an IF function comparing the two says they are the same. However, when I use the EXACT function it says they are not.
If you don't want the formulas hidden when the sheet is protected in the future, right-click the cells, and select Format Cells. On the Protection tab, clear the Hidden check box. Select Formulas and then select Show Formulas to switch between displaying formulas and results.

13 wrz 2014 · When hitting enter, or clicking another cell after getting the cell in edit-mode, the cell stopped showing the formula result and instead showed the formula. e.g cell was showing "102". Double-click and it showed =100+2.
